Given the current and constantly evolving nature of legal hurdles in recent years for increasing numbers of paranormal investigation teams everywhere, we are now requiring any/all future potential clients (those who ask us to enter their private residence to perform a paranormal investigation) to sign a waiver, liability and consent forms. Just to be fair and let everyone know, this has been a common practice for other businesses for many years. For example, anyone who has been to a "public investigation" at "haunted" places like old penitentiaries, psychiatric hospitals, jails, etc., knows that every participant is required to sign these same forms. This is so that the participants in their "ghost hunt" can't turn around and sue the place being investigated. In recent years, some paranormal teams have been getting sued by the clients who asked them to do a "ghost hunt" for them. Likewise, there have also been a few cases in which paranormal team members have been injured during a "ghost hunt," and tried to sue their clients. As a result of these "incidents," increasing numbers of paranormal teams have been or are being advised by lawyers and other legal advisors. As a legal precaution for our particular team, we ask our clients to sign a waiver, liability, and consent forms. These forms are intended to help protect not just our team members, but our clients as well.

Our first official investigation was at a creepy barn in Brumley, Missouri, in 2007. All we had at the time were one digital thermometer, one EMF detector, and one digital voice recorder. We caught numerous anomalous EMF readings, and Lorine was able to physically track a 30 degree temperature drop. We also caught some of the most astounding EVP's we had ever expected to catch. We also had at least one really startling experience. We heard a loud crash in one corner of the barn, and our flashlights went immediately to where the sound came from, but there was nothing there. A member of our team asked if there was someone there who made that crashing noise. In the recording, we heard a definite female voice replying "YES!" There were many other voices and footsteps and such caught that night. Unfortunately, the recordings have been lost in the years since we disbanded in 2009. We have been dying to go back and re-investigate this place. We have now located it, and are working on a way to go back.
Our most recent investigations were at the famous Missouri State Penitentiary on Friday night, September 11 into Saturday morning, September 12, 2020, and at Walnut Street Inn on Saturday, October 24. We also conducted an investigation at a private residence on Saturday night, October 31. At both the prison and Walnut Street Inn, we caught quite a bit on our CCTV night vision camera system, and had some intense hits on our K-II meter. Details can be seen below. After going over the video, photos, and audio from the Halloween investigation at a private residence October 31, 2020, we concluded that the client was suffering from extremely high EMF being emitted from bad electrical outlets and faulty wiring at their home, although we couldn't completely rule out possible paranormal activity in the form of 3 possible "spirit orbs." We discuss this case in our Top 10 video at the bottom of this page.

Disclaimer Concerning the "Spirit Box," oVILUS, AND xbox kINNECT (sls)

Because we are using science, not fad or spiritualism, we feel the need, as experienced paranormal investigators with interests in science, to provide here a disclaimer concerning the use of unproven fads. So-called "spirit boxes," the Ovilus, and the XBOX Kinnect are the latest 3 to be hyped by many ghost hunters.

(1) The "Spirit Box" - A spirit box (to those of us who may not be familiar with the science behind it) is basically nothing more than a glorified radio scanner. The person operating the devise uses the dial to quickly move up and down through the various radio frequencies. This, naturally, produces a mixture of static (when the dial is between radio stations) and snippets of speech and/or music (each time the dial passes a radio station). This produces the effect of hearing certain words and/or names while quickly passing over numerous radio stations. We true paranormal investigators are familiar with the phenomena known as pareidolia. This is a phenomena in which the human brain perceives things like faces and forms in clouds, water waves, and glass/mirrors. The same is true on the auditory as well. There are numerous videos on YouTube in which many skeptics have debunked the "spirit box" over and over again. The "spirit box" is nothing more than a glorified radio scanner, and can NOT be trusted. The ONLY true way to catch EVPs is to ask questions and see if we get a response in the audio. A true paranormal investigator's best friend is near complete silence.

(2) The Ovilus - The Ovilus is a devise which uses EMF and matches the EMF to any number of words in a previously installed vocabulary dictionary in the device's memory. This also has numerous faults. For example, when testing an Ovilus for an investigation, we noticed that the device found an EMF and then said "Demon." However, when we decided to use a normal EMF detector, we realized that the EMF the Ovilus had latched onto was actually the TV set. So, the Ovilus can also NOT be trusted. As with the "Spirit Box," there are numerous videos on YouTube in which skeptics have proven this device to be pure bunk.

(3) The SLS (XBOX Kinnect) - The XBOX Kinnect is a device that was hyped in the horror film, Paranormal Activity 4. Other paranormal groups also decided to use it the way it was used in the movie. The device was designed for XBOX games in which the Kinnect uses a grid of IR light (which can be seen with a night vision camera) in order to "find" the form of the player using it. It then uses the outline of the player to form a "stick figure" on a separate screen. If the device "sees" another "form" in the grid area, it automatically produces another "stick figure." However, numerous skeptics (members of our team included) decided to test this and discovered that the device actually can be easily deceived. In tests, the Kinnect found "stick figures" in a couch, a recliner, pants, shirts, and yes, even a pile of socks. Some ghost hunters have argued that their SLS found a form on a solid wall or "in the air." However, this claim does not pass scrutiny, because when we look at their videos, in every case, their SLS was actually "seeing" a form in the natural pixelation of the camera. So, like the Spirit Box and Ovilus, the Kinnect (SLS) also can't be trusted.

Our investigation of a home in Springfield, Missouri on November 13, 2021

We conducted an investigation at a home in Springfield, Missouri, on Saturday night, November 13, 2021. We went back in the spring of 2022 to reveal what we caught on video. Here is the full video of our reveal and what we caught. Both the investigation and the reveal are definitely the most emotional we have ever had, and we are so glad that we were able to help this client.

Our Investigation at a Private Residence in Arkansas

We conducted an investigation at a private residence in Arkansas on Saturday, September 18, 2021. We went back on December 4 to reveal what we caught to the client. Certain experiences and certain things we caught led us to the conclusion that the clients had a bad presence in their home, so we also conducted a cleansing of the home. Here is the complete video that we uploaded to our YouTube channel. It includes the evidence we caught on video and our experiences, as well as the reactions of the clients during the reveal, and the cleansing of the home.

Return to Walnut Street Inn - April 24, 2021

We returned for a third time to the Walnut Street Inn on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Although we didn't catch anywhere near the exciting stuff we caught in our October investigation here, we did have an interesting night.

For our return to the Walnut Street Inn, we had 4 members of our team... Michael, Lorine, Ted, and Michael's daughter (investigator-in-training) Brittany.

THE PRANK

On this night, our video cameras caught a prank between investigators Lorine and Ted that led to a running gag the rest of the night. We put together this video to explain everything that led up to the prank as well as the running gag it led to for the rest of the night. We have to apologize in advance for the quality of the sound in this video, because something went wrong while recording the voiceover. The opening musical intro is rather loud, but the rest of the video is rather toned down. To properly hear this video, we recommend wearing earphones. You should turn the sound down during the opening musical intro, then turn it up as high as possible once the music ends. Enjoy!

The Orbs in the O'Neal Room

While we didn't catch anywhere even close to the phenomenal stuff we caught during our October 2020 investigation here, we did catch some interesting stuff this time around. We caught some very interesting possible spirit orbs in the O'Neal Room. But, rather than posting numerous 4 to 5 second clips, we decided to string them all together into one long video. INVESTIGATION AT WALNUT STREET INN, SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 24, 2020

Our team investigated the Walnut Street Inn on Saturday night, October 24, 2020, as a follow-up to our 2018 investigation there, and it did NOT disappoint! The team included lead investigators Michael and Lorine, as well as investigators Ted and Tonya, and our special guest was Michael's daughter and investigator-in-training, Brittany.

Clip #1 - Walnut Street Inn

Clip #1 - Door opens and closes by itself...

This first video clip is from the McNeil Room. Ted enters the room and sits on the bed. At the time this video was being recorded on one of our CCTV cameras, all of our other team members were accounted for. Michael and Lorine were in the McCann Room, Brittany was in the Wilder Room, and Tonya was sitting on one of the couches in the lounge area just outside the McCann Room. No one was anywhere near the McNeil Room. After Ted sits on the bed, the door to his room opens and closes 3 separate times. The first time it opens, we can see a dark, shadowy "hand" (for lack of a better word) seemingly "pushing" the door open. If you stop the video at the very instant that Ted opens the door to enter, you can very clearly see his hand on the door knob. However, the dark, shadowy "hand" is never seen touching the doorknob. When the door opens and closes, you can very clearly hear the latch click. This is a heavy door which requires some bit of force to open, and the doorknob MUST be turned.

Clip #2 - The Rocking Chair

In this clip, Michael is training Brittany in the use of the EMF detector. While conducting an EMF sweep of the McCann Room, and getting anomalous brief split-second blips, they were startled by a creaking noise, and turned to find a rocking chair in the room was moving by itself. They caught 2 different views of the incident... one with the CCTV camera in the room, and the other was caught by Michael's phone because he was recording on FaceBook Live at the time... This is the CCTV footage.

One thing our team has struggled with over the years is how some people seem to be able to edit and post their FaceBook Live videos to YouTube and Rumble. But now we have finally figured out that hurdle. During our investigation at Walnut Street Inn, Michael and Brittany entered the Rosen Room and began to pan the thermal camera around. Michael was filming the thermal screen with his phone for our Facebook Live video broadcast. One of our viewers commented that they had seen a figure standing by the bed. When we went back later and re-viewed the FaceBook Live video, we saw what that person was referring to. We then took a screenshot of the figure from the video, and placed it at the end of the video, with a circle around the figure, then put the video clip on a loop, to be played over and over, so our viewers wouldn't have to sit through an hour or more of video to get to this one interesting spot, and to keep the viewers from having to stop and rewind the video to see it again, then posted it to YouTube and Rumble.

Clip #4 - Camera moves by itself

This is footage from the McNeil Room. All of our team members are accounted for. Ted and Brittany are on the bed, but Michael, Tonya, and Lorine are just out of frame. We were all in the McNeil Room because Ted had alerted us to the fact that he was seeing what he had believed to be "orbs" in this very room. However, we were also noting that the camera was moving. All of our team members are watching the CCTV viewscreen on Ted's nightstand to the far left of the video frame, when we notice the camera moving...

Clips 5, 6

As we have explained before in previous videos, there is a concrete way to differentiate between true "spirit orbs," and dust orbs. Dust orbs are almost always transparent, and they never glow abnormally bright, and they never travel in a path that goes against the normal air flow in the room. During our investigation at Walnut Street Inn, we encountered a myriad of Spirit orbs. Clip #5 is footage from the McNeil Room, in which we captured several spirit orbs flying around... Here we see some good examples of what actually qualify as "spirit orbs." While most of the stuff floating around in the room can be explained away as dust, there are 4 orbs that can't be so easily explained. The most important criteria for a spirit orb is the fact that it glows abnormally bright. At 08-30-20, we see the first one, flying from left to right. The second one shows up at 08-30-42, moving from the bottom center of the screen and moving upward. The third and fourth appear at the same time. At 08-30-51, we see the 3rd one as it moves upward from the floor. Its appearance is like a glowing white ring with a white dot in the center. At the same time, the 4th one shows up, flying down then back up, in the center top of the screen. Clip #6 is more footage from our CCTV camera in the McNeil Room. At 12-18-13 in this video, we see a very good, brightly glowing spirit orb rise up from the floor in the center of the screen, then it seems to dive down towards the bed and disappear. There are a few other things floating around, but those can easily be dismissed as dust. What makes these particular orbs stand out is the fact that they exhibit the 3 primary characteristics of a true spirit orb. (1) It glows abnormally bright, seemingly exhibiting its own unknown internal light source, (2) is NOT transparent, and (3) seems to follow a distinct flight path, contrary to the known air flow of the room.

Clip #7 - Unknown anomaly in the Rosen Room

This footage is from the CCTV camera in the Rosen Room. At 16-07-01, just as Michael sits down on the bed, we see an unknown anomaly float up from the bed, then fly away to the right of the screen and disappear.

Clip #8

This is footage from our CCTV camera in the Wilder Room. We hear several unexplained noises, including a loud thump in the room. All the team members are downstairs at the time this was recorded.

This footage is from the CCTV camera in the McCann Room. At 09-53-48, we see an unknown, unexplained anomaly fly from left to right, then it darts downward.

Apparition in the Rosen Room

During our investigation, Michael and Brittany enter the Rosen Room, Michael pans the thermal camera to the left, while recording the thermal camera screen with his phone for our FaceBook Live broadcast. One of our viewers commented that they had seen a figure standing by the bed. When we went back later and re-viewed the footage, this is what we saw...

This is CCTV footage from the camera in the McCann Room. At 08-11-56, as Michael is exiting the room, an unknown anomaly flies across the screen.

This is footage from our CCTV camera in the Wilder Room. Michael and Brittany are in the room, doing a thermal sweep. Brittany is sitting on the bed, and Michael is recording the thermal camera with his phone as he broadcasts Facebook Live. At 15-21-45, we see an unknown, unexplained anomaly fly behind Michael.

INVESTIGATION: MISSOURI STATE PENITENTIARY - FRIDAY NIGHT, SEPTEMBER 11, 2020

We headed out to the famous Missouri State Penitentiary on Friday night, September 11, 2020, for an overnight private investigation. This was also our first attempt at doing an investigation posting intermittent FaceBook LIVE videos!!! We investigated Housing Units 1, 3, and 4, including Death Row, and the gas chamber. We had hoped to also investigate the solitary confinement area known as "The Hole," as well as the other three floors of Housing Unit 3, but we didn't have enough time. As with all good things, there always seems to be "so much to do, and not enough time to do it." We did have a very exciting night!

FRIDAY night, SEPTEMber 11, 2020 - Arrival at MISSOURI STATE PENITENTIARY in JEFFERSON CITY, MO

Five members of our team showed up for this event... Michael, Ted, Lorine, Tonya, and Jared. Here, we have Ted, Lorine, and Tonya, at our investigation at Pythian Castle IN 2019...

Bragging Rights! The Rec Cages

During our initial tour, our guide took us into an area called The Rec Cages. Rec = Recreation. This is the area where inmates would play basketball or engage in other activities. We were informed that this area had only recently been opened to the public, which makes our team the VERY FIRST paranormal team to have access to this area during an overnight investigation. While maneuvering through the cages, we were taking random intermittent photos. In one of our photos, this strange unknown light anomaly showed up. There is something running down the picture, in a straight line, at a slight angle, running from the left of center top to the right of center bottom, seemingly slicing right through the anomaly. As it was lightly sprinkling rain, this straight line could possibly be a drop of rain falling through the shot. However, the light anomaly can't be so easily dismissed. We are currently unsure as to what this might be, although we can't positively rule out a possible camera flaw.

PEEK-A-BOO!
When we went back home Saturday morning, we set out to go through all of our video, audio, and photos. We first went into the CCTV DVR footage, and were immediately astonished when we saw this. At 13:23:28, we see a head/face peering in through the two windows in the very back of the corridor. At 13:23:29/30, we see an unknown entity peeking out at us from the left side wall. We have nicknamed this entity "peek-a-boo." There's more... At 13:23:45, what appears to be a "sky rod" flies down through the frame, from the upper left of center, down to the right, as if headed towards the camera, but going just beneath it, although we can NOT, with absolute certainty, rule out the possibility that this very well could be an insect. At 13:23:52, something misty appears at the very bottom, left of center of the screen. At 13:24:00, we see an unknown ghostly mist flying from the left of the screen, then disappearing as it goes outward away from the camera. All of this happened just a few minutes after we had been getting some insane activity with our K-II around the corner. This hallway takes a right turn at the end, and continues down further. That was where we were getting intense activity with our K-II. We decided to go back and try to go to another building. As we turned the corner, and neared the CCTV camera, this is what it captured.

This is footage from Lorine's Facebook Live video. At the time, we were not aware of how to transfer our Facebook Live videos from our phones to our YouTube, so we just did what we could... we used a separate camcorder to film our phones, getting the footage necessary, and then posting that. Of course, the full video is on our Facebook page. We just wanted to post this here to show the really good hits we were getting with the K-II meter. Housing unit 4 is where boxing legend Sonny Liston spent time. He didn't die in prison, but we decided to test the cell where he spent his time. We got some really good hits, so it may or may not be Sonny trying to communicate, since we can be quite sure that other inmates also spent time in this cell. Since the posting of this video, we have now figured out how to transfer our FB Live videos to our YouTube channel and you can see the full video there.

This is another video from our Friday night, September 11, 2020 investigation at Missouri State Penitentiary. At 12:54:36/37, just as Tonya is walking out of view of the camera, a strange, wispy, misty object flies by right behind her. At almost the exact same time, another wispy form is seen just below the first one. Both objects are traveling left to right in the center of the screen. At 12:54:56/57, yet another wispy form zips by the camera. There are a few other things that pass by after that, but we think these are mostly bugs.

Whisper EVP
Another good video from our MSP investigation. In this clip, we see Ted and Lorine as they pass by the camera. Once they pass by, we see a transparent wispy object fly across the screen, left to right. We also can hear Ted and Lorine talking as they continue on, but then, while they are talking, we notice an unexplained whisper mixed in with them, saying "meet with us."

Conclusion: Missouri State Penitentiary

Our investigation of the Missouri State Penitentiary concluded that its reputation is well-deserved. It definitely lived up to expectations. We can say, without any doubt that this is most definitely the most haunted place we have ever investigated. Please check out all of our other videos that we have posted on YouTube.
